GUWAHATI: BJP's Assam president Bhabesh Kalita, while welcoming the Surat court order against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case where he was held guilty, on Thursday said "bad action always draws bad results" and the saffron party has no reason to suppress Rahul as the grand old party has been alleging.
Kalita said Rahul, whom Congress thinks is a big leader, should know how to earn and give respect. "He should know how to refer to a Prime Minister. Whatever he had used in his remark was literally condemnable and the words were defamatory. We welcome the court's verdict," he added.
Kalita said Rahul is not that big leader to be worried about. "Congress's bad deeds over the years are the reason why Rahul or his party has not been able to stand up or why people have not extended their support. It is their routine work to bring allegations against the BJP ," he added.
On the allegation against BJP that it goes after those who raise their voice, Kalita said it was the court not the BJP which pronounced the verdict against Rahul. "Nobody is above the law or judiciary. We all have to accept the judiciary," he added.
