Kay-Alana Turner has been missing since March 10.
Harris County Sheriff's OfficeA Beaumont woman who's been missing since March 10 has been placed back on Harris County's official missing person list.
Kay-Alana Turner, 27, still has outstanding warrants for evading in a motor vehicle and aggravated assault on a peace officer after a run-in with Harris County sheriff's deputies on March 10.
A representative from the Sheriff's Office said she intentionally drove toward deputies while fleeing in her vehicle and "refused" attempts to talk with deputies. However, Turner's family said she was in a manic episode as the result of mixed-up mental health medication, and she likely fled law enforcement because she was afraid.
Turner's family previously said they were told she couldn't be considered a missing person any longer because of the warrants. However, a Facebook page created to provide updates on the case said a Harris County Sheriff's Deputy worked "hours" to re-activate her missing person case.
The Sheriff's Office has not responded to The Enterprise's request for more details as to why her missing person case was dropped and later re-activated.
Turner was last seen heading toward Decker-Prarie Rosehill Road, northwest of Tomball, and her footprints were found next to a log in Spring Creek, according to Rosa Calhoun, Turner's mother.
Her family and friends have posted thousands of flyers with pictures of Turner across the state, have searched wooded areas and checked with local agencies that may have taken in Turner. A Saturday search covering a 5- to 10-mile radius from where Turner was last seen is being organized by the Southeast Texas Navy.
