Chinese footwear firm Alvin Sukali will relocate from Myanmar to Cambodia’s Samraong Tong commune in Kampong Speu province this June and will offer jobs to over 1,000, according to the latter’s ministry of labour and vocational training (LVT).

The factory is expected to produce over 70,000 pairs of shoes a month that will be exported to European and American markets, Alvin Sukali chairman Hu Zhaohui, who met Cambodia’s LVT minister Ith Samheng recently, said.

Zhaohui sought recommendations from the ministry regarding labour laws and regulations, according to Cambodian media reports.

Samheng said the company should join business associations to get acquainted with the regulations, laws and other aspects of conducting business in the country.
