JAIPUR: Two weeks after a tigress was relocated from Ranthambore Tiger Reserve to Sariska Tiger Reserve (STR), officials from the forest department said that the three-and-half year old tigress ST-30 was released in the wild on Thursday.
With this, the number of big cats in STR has increased to 28.
Officials said that a soft release of the tigress was done on Wednesday evening around 7:15pm.
On Thursday, the movement of the tigress was found to be normal and it was released in the wild.
“The tigress ST-30 would be strictly monitored and teams have been formed for that and officials have been instructed for regular monitoring. Now Sariska Tiger Reserve has 28 tigers with eight tigers, 14 tigresses and six cubs,” said R N Meena, field director of Sariska Tiger Reserve.
