PANAJI: Though Goa reported fewer Covid cases — 16 — on Thursday as compared to the previous day, the health services said its strategy for monitoring the spread of the disease will continue.
“We will do what we have been doing since we noted a rising graph in Covid infections,” state epidemiologist, Dr Prashant Suryawanshi told TOI.
The health services have placed a request for Covid vaccines with the Centre, wanting the states to restart vaccination, he said.
With 11 recoveries reported during the day, the active caseload was at 142, and four patients were hospitalised.
Of the 16 new patients, 12 were home-isolated. They will remain in isolation for a week as per the health services guidelines.
As many as 168 samples were tested, and the recovery rate remained unchanged at 98.4%.
Meanwhile, after two cases of H3N2 were detected last week, no fresh infections have been reported.
