Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has issued recovery certificates against two builders for not paying dues amounting to Rs 23 crore over the past decade. Both the certificates have been sent to the district magistrate’s office for recovery.
Officials said the two developers were Assotech Realty in Zeta 1 and AVJ Developers in Beta 2.
The move, officials said, followed instructions from GNIDA CEO Ritu Maheshwari, who held a meeting with members of the builder department.
“Assotech was allotted 7 acres in 2005. Although the builder completed the project, it did not deposit any dues to the Authority since 2012. The developer owes around Rs 13.4 crore towards land premium and additional compensation. AVJ Developers was allotted a 1 acre plot in 2009. It has an outstanding of about Rs 10 crore accumulated since 2013,” said Aditi Singh, the additional CEO at GNIDA.
The Authority took the step after several reminders and notices, she added.
Moreover, the allotment of plots for three educational institutions were also cancelled for non-payment of dues and delay in completing the projects. The Authority has now decided to take back these plots and allot them afresh so that new projects can come up there and the outstanding amount is recovered.
Singh said land was allotted to Greater Noida Hostel and Infrastructure in Knowledge Park 5, Pelican Friends Shakti Samiti in Sector 2 and AP Educational Services in Phi 3. While Noida Hostel owed the GNIDA Rs 21.4 crore, Pelican and AP Educational Services were to deposit Rs 2.4 crore and Rs 1.8 crore, respectively.
Officials said the institutions were allotted land more than a decade ago, but they failed to pay their dues over time. Several notices were also issued to them, but they did not respond, they added.
Since November last year, GNIDA has cancelled the allotment of 11 institutional plots and six builders’ plots, the officials said.
