Gujarat: Man held for raping 14-yr-old cousin

RAJKOT: Morbi police detained a man accused of raping and impregnating his 14-year-old cousin.
The rape survivor’s mother, who filed a rape complaint, came to know about it only Thursday when the girl complained of abdominal pain. During medical examination,it was found that the teen was seven months pregnant.
The police detained Ranjit Parsoda, a resident of Kutch. In her statement, the girl told the police that she was raped by the accused on August 18 last year when she was alone at home. Parsoda, being a distant relative, often visited the girl's family in Morbi and the rape survivor addressed him as elder brother only. The girl, however, did not reveal her ordeal to anybody and was also not mature enough to understand that she was pregnant, said the police.
In another complaint of molestation filed in Rajkot’s Bhaktinagar police station, a 12-year-old girl accused her neighbour of molesting her. The police booked Ejaz Ansari, a resident of Babariya colony under IPC section 354 and also under Pocso Act. In a complaint registered with the police, the victim’s mother said that the accused allegedly forced her daughter to hug him on Wednesday evening and had also made sexual advances on her when she had gone to the terrace to find her pet cat. However, her mother heard the girl screaming after sometime and reached the terrace when she saw the accused making sexual advances on her daughter.
