LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the progress of works in 100 aspirational blocks in the state and said that to "ensure that the state is capable and self-sufficient, we need to ensure that our villages are capable and self-sufficient".
Directing all departments to ensure that they had sufficient manpower in each block, Yogi said efforts should be made to expand health facilities in each aspirational block through Health ATMs.
"Officials should review the quality of social welfare and development works being undertaken in each block. Through the development works that are being carried out in these blocks, we will get help in ensuring that the per capita income of the state also rises. We need to make our gram panchayats atmanirbhar, Yogi said.
The government is working on creating a model of atmanirbhar gram panchayats and development in aspirational blocks," the CM added.
He further said that Amrit Sarovars are being created across the state and the departments concerned must ensure their maintenance. The Amrit Sarovars should also be linked with economic activities.
On the lines of aspirational districts, the state government has identified 100 aspirational blocks and is taking up works on 75 indicators in the sectors of health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development, and basic infrastructure development. Work is being rolled out through BC Sakhis, Gram Sachivalayas etc.
During the meeting, the CM was informed that a dashboard has been created to monitor the progress in the aspirational districts. Monthly data of all aspirational blocks is uploaded on this. The chief development officer has been appointed the nodal officer for this work.
Departments are holding workshops and training programmes in these blocks at regular intervals. CM Fellows, selected under a special one year programme, have been appointed to help in monitoring and implementing the various government schemes in these blocks.
