A few days after launching the Galaxy A54 5G, Samsung has silently unveiled its slightly modified version, the Galaxy M54. The new mid-range smartphone was unceremoniously launched in the Middle East. It brings a higher-resolution primary camera and an even bigger battery while keeping some of the best bits of the Galaxy A54 5G.
Let us check out how it is different from its more premium sibling.
Galaxy M54 specs include 108MP OIS camera, 6,000mAh battery, and 120Hz OLED screen
The Galaxy M54 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is bigger than the Galaxy A54 5G, and to support it, the phone has a 6,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
The phone features a 32MP selfie camera on the front. At the rear, it has three cameras: 108MP primary OIS camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The phone can record 4K 30fps videos using front and rear cameras.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M54 with the Exynos 1380 processor (which, in our experience with the A54 5G, is underwhelming), with 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot (up to 1TB). The memory card slot is hybrid, so you can either insert a microSD card or a secondary nano SIM card. The phone supports GPS, sub-6GHz 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone runs Samsung’s Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software out of the box. It has a side-mounted fingerprint reader but misses out on an IP67 rating and stereo speakers that make the Galaxy A54 5G a well-rounded phone. It has Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen, but its frame and back are made of plastic. The Galaxy M54 is available in Silver and Navy Blue colors.
Samsung hasn’t revealed the pricing of the Galaxy M54 yet, but we expect it to hit store shelves pretty soon. The device could be launched in more Asian countries (particularly in the Indian subcontinent) after a few weeks.
