Int’l students celebrate Nowruz at MSU

Vadodara: Students of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Iran celebrated Nowruz, the Persian New Year, at the Office of International Affairs (OIA) of MS University on Tuesday evening.
Nearly 100 international students from different countries participated in the cultural event where speakers delivered speeches about the significance, history and other aspects of Nowruz.
OIA director and dean of Faculty of Technology and Engineering professor Dhanesh Patel and Dr Gheyasuddin, a lecturer from the Persian literature department were chief guests for the programme.
The programme included a display of traditional outfits of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Afghanistan’s traditional dance — Atan and Tajikistani dance and drama were also part of the programme. There were special entertainment and games including hand wrestling, rope pulling, pick and act game. TNN
