Accenture layoffs: IT services firm announces 19,000 job cuts, 2.5% of its workforce

IT services firm Accenture on Thursday said it would lay off about 2.5% of its workforce, or 19,000 employees, becoming the latest major company to announce job cuts in view of macroeconomic challenges. The company also lowered its annual revenue and profit forecasts. According to a Reuters report, more than half of the layoffs will affect staff at its non-billable corporate functions.
