Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:50AM

Adani Transmissions(up 5.00%), ADANIGREEN(up 5.00%), Karma Energy(up 4.95%), Jyoti Structures(up 2.96%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.76%), Adani Power(up 1.59%), RTNPOWER(up 1.56%), DPSC(up 0.93%), Energy Development Company(up 0.90%) and Suzlon Energy(up 0.64%) were among the top gainers.

GE Power India Limited(down 1.34%), PTC India(down 1.09%), Reliance Power(down 0.97%), Alstom T&D India(down 0.85%), JSW Energy(down 0.66%), Indowind Energy(down 0.45%), NHPC(down 0.37%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.37%), CESC(down 0.36%) and Gujarat Industries Power(down 0.34%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 10.35 points down at 17141.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 46.12 points at 58168.47 at around 10:50AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 1.82%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.23%), Nestle India(up 1.22%), Tata Motors(up 1.2%), Axis Bank(up 1.01%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.82%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.71%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.63%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 1.65%), HCL Technologies(down 1.16%), Reliance Industries(down 1.05%), Infosys(down 0.96%), Wipro(down 0.91%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.74%), State Bank of India(down 0.71%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.71%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.62%) and UPL Ltd(down 0.61%) were trading in the red.
