Work on infra to hit water supply on Monday & Tuesday in Gurgaon

GURGAON: Water supply to several parts of the city will be affected for 30 hours from 9am on March 27 to 3pm on March 28 as the GMDA is planning to suspend the supply via the 900mm master water pipeline from Sector 16 boosting station. A GMDA official said the move is being taken to connect the newly laid 700mm pipeline from MDI Chowk to IFFCO Chowk with the master pipeline.
Areas, including DLF-1, 2, 4, Sushant Lok 1 and 2, MG Road, sectors 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 27, 28, 29, 43, Udyog Vihar-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, South City-1, Surya Vihar, Sirhaul village, Chakkarpur and Saini Khera will be affected. “Residents are requested to use water judiciously to avoid shortage during the shutdown,” read the GMDA order.
On February 20, GMDA had suspended the supply from Basai and Chandu Budhera water treatment plants (WTPs) for replacing sluice valves. The 1,300mm master supply pipeline from the water treatment plant of Basai and 900mm master supply pipeline from WTP Chandu Budhera were shut for 24 hours. The supply was affected in several areas, including sectors 4, 5, 7, 9, 9A, 12, 10, 10A, 15-1 and 2, 31, 37C, 37D and 81-115, Lakshman Vihar and Prem Nagar.
