KALYAN: The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) on Thursday presented an Rs 2,206 crore budget for the financial year 2023-24.
KDMC commissioner Dr Bhausaheb Dangade, who presented the budget, called it a citizen-oriented budget aimed to focus on three major aspects - health, cleanliness and education services for Kalyan-Dombivli citizens.
The KDMC also mainly focuses on e-office system in all municipal offices for dynamic administration.
The use of e-office will be completed in the year 2023-24. Through this system, all the files will be submitted online in digital form and their disposal will be done in online mode only.
The employees will be able to dispose of the files anytime and anywhere. This will speed up the office work. Through the system it will be possible to track files exactly with whom it is pending and for how long. Thus, such delayed files will be disposed of in time. Moreover, files will not be handled by non-governmental persons.
It will help to change the culture and ethics of government work so as to encourage more collaboration and effective knowledge management in the workplace.
While the issue of unauthorized construction in the city is prevalent, as per the government policy, a campaign will be implemented in Kalyan-Dombivli to authorize unauthorized construction through penalty action and during this budget, the commissioner has given developers a great opportunity to authorize buildings that are not on government land and can be authorized as per rules. This has given hope to the citizens to get their structure regularised.
The KDMC has decided to construct two multi-specialty hospitals that include one at Kachore area, cancer centre in Patharli, 68 health wellness centres, cath lab, Chemotherapy centre, radiotherapy centre, vaccination and sterilisation centre of stray cats and pet centres.
At the same time, while giving special emphasis on cleanliness in the city, facilities like removal of Aadharwadidumping ground, implementation of waste processing projects, expansion of garbage projects, mobile toilets have been included in the budget. The KDMC have also decided to make free sticks for yellow and orange ration card holders for cremation in the crematorium.
