NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 289.31 points down at 57925.28 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Relicab Cable Manufa(down 15.27 per cent), Ramchandra Leasing(down 13.89 per cent), Svam Software(down 11.24 per cent), SKP Securities(down 10.40 per cent) and Advance Metering(down 10.12 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 20 stocks closed in the green, while 30 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 75.0 points down at 17076.9.

On the BSE, SVJ Enterprises Ltd., Patron Exim Ltd., Jaysynth Dyes, Vision Cinemas and Vakrangee hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shukra Pharma(PP), Global Surfaces, Rajeshwari Cans Ltd., Career Point and Escorp Asset Manage touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
