NOIDA: A 28-year-old man died on Tuesday after an unidentified vehicle hit his bike on Yamuna Expressway.
The victim, Rohit Kumar, a resident of Mathura district, was travelling from Jewar to Noida on a Splendor. He was on the expressway near Karoli Bhatta in the Rabupura police station jurisdiction when a vehicle hit his bike.
“Passers-by spotted the victim and called the police. A team reached the spot, sent the body for a post-mortem, and informed the family,” a senior police official said. Police later handed over the body to the family. Further investigation is underway.
In another accident on Tuesday, a private bus crashed into a 16-year-old pedestrian on the Noida Expressway in the Knowledge Park police station area. He was headed to his hometown in Bulandshahr from Kalkaji, Delhi.
“Around 7 am on Tuesday, a private bus with a UP registration number hit Lokesh Kumar, a resident of Bulandshahr, on Noida Expressway. He was on his way home with a religious lamp from the Kalkaji temple. He got admitted to Kailash Hospital for treatment. Cops informed his family about the accident and seized the bus,” said a senior officer at Knowledge Park police station.
Police said Lokesh died during treatment, adding that they handed over the body to the family after an autopsy.
