3 arrested in Ludhiana for social media posts

LUDHIANA: The police on Wednesday questioned eight Ludhiana residents who have been uploading posts on social media profiles in support of Amritpal Singh, head of Waris Punjab De. Three of these men were placed under preventive arrest, but were later released on bail.
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who on Tuesday released a video on legal aid for the families of those who have so far been arrested in the Amritpal case, was also questioned.
The police said taking action under sections 107 and 151 of CrPC, they had made preventive arrests of Raj Singh Saina of Basti Jodhewal, Sandeep Singh of BRS Nagar, and Paramjit Singh of Division II.
Apart from Manjhpur, police questioned Jatinderpal Singh of Pakhowal Road, Maskeen Singh of Basant Avenue, Harpreet Singh of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on Pakhowal Road, and Jang Singh of Rajguru Nagar, Barewal Road.
Ludhiana deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Harmeet Singh Hundal said eight men were called for questioning and verification of their link with Amritpal.
