Vig court orders seizure of ₹26L assets of retd officer
Bhubaneswar: A special vigilance court on Tuesday ordered the confiscation of assets worth over Rs 26 lakh belonging to convicted Odisha administrative service (OAS) officer Sanatan Sethi. Such a confiscation has been made after a gap of around three years, a source said.
Sethi, a retired block development officer of Khandapada in Nayagarh district, was sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment in December 2018 for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
The vigilance had moved the court, seeking confiscation of Sethi’s assets.
The court has ordered confiscation of his assets, including a three-storey building at mouza Sinduria in Nayagarh and movable assets (bank and postal deposits).
