All arrangements in place for Gangaur fest and Navratri fair

JAIPUR: The Jaipur district administration on Tuesday made necessary arrangements for the upcoming Gangaur festival and the Chaitra Navratri fair at the Shilamata Temple in Amber.
While the Gangaur Savaari and Buddhi Gangaur Savaari will leave the Janaani Dyodhi in City Palace at 6pm on March 24 and March 25 respectively, the Navratri Fair will be held at the Shilamata Temple from March 22 to March 30.
“Tourists from different parts of the country and abroad will reach Jaipur to witness the Gangaur festival. Therefore, we have assigned responsibilities to all the officers of the departments concerned to ensure everyone’s safety,” said Jaipur district collector Prakash Rajpurohit.
The commissioner of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation-Heritage has been instructed to ensure cleanliness, arrangement of lighting, seating arrangement for tourists and deployment of fire-fighting vehicles and other necessary equipment on the routes of the procession. The DC (North) of the Jaipur Commissionerate has been instructed to maintain communal harmony during the processions.
“For the fair, DC North has also been instructed to set up a control room inside the temple compound & to ensure safety of the devotees & tourists,” an official added.
