Ludhiana: Ludhiana deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik on Tuesday released a documentary film and Pictorial Brochure titled, “Forests Around Ludhiana” which highlights pristine countryside forest locations around Ludhiana. It has been compiled by nature artist Harpreet Sandhu in collaboration with District Administration and Forest Department, Ludhiana.
The event was held at Mini Secretariat, Ludhiana, to mark World Forestry Day 2023.
Forests Around Ludhiana highlights locations that might have been ignored by travellers. This pictorial work aims to promote the significance of nature within citizens of Ludhiana as it portrays truly stunning forest areas of Mattewara, Garhi Fazil, Neelon, New Haider Nagar and Halwara, enabling the people of Ludhiana to have a closer look of nature around them.
“Forest Department, Ludhiana, would promote vivid colours of natural forest locations of the district, which will definitely highlight these lesser known forest locations and motivate people of Ludhiana to work individually or in groups towards preservation of nature,” said Harpreet Sandhu.
Divisional Forest Officer Harbhajan Singh acknowledged the untiring efforts of Sandhu in capturing serene and stunning beauty of forests in and around the district through his camera lens.
“This move will generate enthusiasm amongst citizens of Ludhiana for exploring these unseen forest locations and further promote tourism prospects of Ludhiana,” the DFO said.
