Role of guideline-driven medical management of Chronic Venous Disease(CVD) - Dr. P. Govindaraj

  |

Overview

Guideline-driven medical management plays an important role in the treatment of chronic venous disease (CVD). Guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis and management of CVD based on the latest research and clinical expertise. The main goals of guideline-driven medical management of CVD are to improve symptoms, prevent complications, and improve the patient's quality of life.

It involves a combination of non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions. Non-pharmacological interventions may include lifestyle modifications such as weight loss, exercise, and elevation of the affected limb, as well as compression therapy. Pharmacological interventions may include venoactive drugs such as flavonoids and micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF), which have been shown to improve symptoms and reduce edema in patients.

In this video Prof. Dr P. Govindaraj, Senior consultant vascular surgeon from Sri Ramakrishna hospital, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu will explain about the role of guideline-driven medical management of Chronic Venous Disease(CVD).
