The 700-year-old Magleshwar Bhairav Temple, located in a lagoon in the heart of Srinagar city, was damaged by floods in 2014, and the Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken up restoration work on it. Asad said the temple management committee was consulted on preserving the original form of the temple before the work started. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ajaz Asad said that the temple is a symbol of the synthesis of Shaivism and Sufism that Kashmir is known for Local residents said that they were very happy with the restoration work on the temple. According to the officials carrying out the restoration work, no cement is being used. Only the material that was used to build the temple originally is being used.
