TSPSC leak kingpin says didn't sell prelims paper
Main accused in the TSPSC fraud, P Praveen Kumar, has denied selling the Group-1 prelims paper to any one despite police confronting him with details of his friend who had cleared the prelims exam with his help.
HYDERABAD: Main accused in the TSPSC fraud, P Praveen Kumar, has denied selling the Group-1 prelims paper to any one despite police confronting him with details of his friend who had cleared the prelims exam with his help.
Praveen also claimed wrong bubbling in the answer sheet was a mistake on his part and cited high court judgment where answer sheets of candidates who had committed such mistakes couldn't be considered for valuation.
Cops who have been interrogating Praveen for three days indicate that it is unlikely that he might have leaked the prelims question paper to many and one or two men, who are suspected to have received the question papers, got it for free as Praveen knew them well.
"One person whose name starts with the letter 'S' scored 107 in the prelims exam. He is Praveen's friend, who also worked with him in the past. We are trying to gather more evidence regarding the exchange of the question paper between Praveen and beneficiaries," police said.
Praveen is also not willing to accept police theory about him deliberately bubbling a wrong booklet number in the answer sheet, leading to his disqualification in the exam. Praveen had all logical answers to discourage investigators. "Praveen cited a judgment by the high court where such appeals from the candidates who could not clear an exam due to wrong bubbling of certain details in the answer sheet were disallowed. Praveen said that wrong bubbling was a genuine mistake and more than 9,000 people could not clear the prelims exam due to similar mistakes," police said.
The nine accused, who are in police custody, were grilled by SIT sleuths for the third day under the supervision of additional commissioner AR Srinivas. Cops have so far mainly focused on eliciting information from Praveen.
