The NSE Nifty index closed 119.1 points up at 17107.5, while BSE Sensex ended up 445.73 points at 58074.68.
On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.94 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.91 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.20 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
