Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:30AM

ADANIGREEN(up 4.54%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 2.16%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 1.88%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.59%), SJVN(up 1.46%), NHPC(up 1.11%), Inox Wind Energy(up 1.09%), KEC International(up 0.92%), JSW Energy(up 0.89%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 0.85%) were among the top gainers.

Karma Energy(down 2.66%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.30%), Torrent Power(down 1.10%), DPSC(down 0.45%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.26%), Hitachi Energy India(down 0.23%), Inox wind(down 0.20%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 0.20%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.05%) and Alstom T&D India(down 0.04%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 91.0 points up at 17079.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 333.57 points at 57962.52 at around 10:30AM.

Reliance Industries(up 2.9%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.44%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.08%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.8%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.79%), SBI Life(up 1.71%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.27%), Nestle India(up 1.26%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.21%) and Bajaj Finserv(up 0.96%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.3%), ITC(down 0.82%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.82%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.65%), JSW Steel(down 0.61%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.57%), HCL Technologies(down 0.57%), Infosys(down 0.46%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.41%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.26%) were trading in the red.
