CII western region gets new leadership for 2023-24

Panaji: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) western region on Tuesday elected new leaders for the year 2023-24 with Praveer Sinha from Tata Power Limited becoming the new chairman, while Swati Salgaocar from V.M. Salgaocar & Brother Private Limited will be the deputy chairperson.

 The theme for the western region this year is, ‘The Next Phase of Globalisation for Indian Businesses’.

A scholar and a visiting research associate at MIT, Boston, Sinha is the CEO and managing director of Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility. He has nearly 37 years of experience in power generation and distribution sector in India.

Prior to his present role, he had served as the CEO and MD of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), a public-private partnership (PPP) venture with the Delhi government. 

Salgaocar is a director at the Vimson Group, founded over 70 years ago in Goa with business interests in mineral development, real estate and financial services.

Salgaocar was the previous chairperson of CII-Goa. She also holds several positions on some state bodies such as the Goa Investment Promotion Board, TCP and Tourism Board.

She is also a member of the governing board and chairperson of the campus development committee of the Goa Institute of Management.
