Police treats me in inhuman manner, alleges Irfan Solanki

Kanpur: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Irfan Solanki, who was brought to the Kanpur court from Maharajganj jail on Monday, accused police of behaving with him in an inhuman manner.
A video of the MLA has also gone viral on social media platforms. TOI however does not confirm the veracity of the video. “The way the cops behave with me, it seems that I am not a human being but an animal as they are not even allowing me to urinate,” said Irfan while talking to reporters.
He said at 2:30 in the night, they (cops) made him sit in the car, and then they brought him directly to the Kanpur court and then took him to jail again. “He is being treated like animals, not humans,” he further said. SP MLA Irfan and his brother Rizwan had been booked in several cases, including the case of arson at the plot in Jajmau area. He is at present lodged in Maharajganj jail.
On Monday, he was brought to the court to appear in the Jajmau arson case, but due to the strike in the Kanpur court, the testimony could not take place.
Irfan further said, “He has full faith in Allah…and he will get justice.”
He also attacked the government and said that everyone knows that he is innocent, but he is being implicated in a fake case, and the way the government is troubling him shows its intention. Akhilesh Yadav is a member of his family, and he is standing with him, he said.
Speaking on his resignation statement, Irfan said that in response, a minister in the state government has asked him to come to the assembly and resign. "This again makes the intention of the government clearer," he said.
Meanwhile, the district president of Samajwadi Party Imran along with party members met police commissioner BP Jogdand on Monday evening and handed a memorandum to him regarding inhuman police behaviour with SP MLA Irfan Solanki who is at present lodged in Maharajganj Jail.
Imran told media persons that he had told the CP about the issue. “A memorandum has also been given to him,” he said and added, “The police commissioner has assured that an inquiry will be conducted in the matter. Indecency with MLA will not be allowed.”
