Court issues notice to police in case of Atiq’s missing sons
Prayagraj: The chief judicial magistrate (CJM), Prayagraj on Monday issued show cause notice to the station in charge of Dhoomanganj, Prayagraj for not submitting report in response to an application of Shaista Parveen, the wife of mafia don Atiq Ahmed’s wife, regarding the whereabouts of their two minor sons, and fixed March 22 as the next date of hearing.
In the application, Atiq’s wife had alleged that her two sons — Aizan Ahmed and Aban Ahmed — were picked up by the police for interrogation on February 24 after the killing of Umesh Pal, who was a witness in BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case.
Atiq, his wife Shaista, brother Ashraf and two sons have been named as accused in the murder case. Shaista in her application had alleged that her two sons were picked up by the police on February 24 from her residence and their whereabouts are not known since then. Besides, no information regarding her sons was being provided by the policemen belonging to Dhoomanganj police station.
Hence, in this backdrop, she had requested the CJM to ask for a report from Dhoomanganj police and appropriate action be taken. Earlier, the police had submitted a report that Aizan and Aban have been lodged in the child protection home after they were found roaming in the Chakia locality of Prayagraj.
However, the counsel for Shaista pleaded that these two sons were not in the child protection home of Khuldabad at Prayagraj. Hence, the police must disclose the name of the district where these children have been kept in child protection home.
A criminal case in connection with the killing of Umesh Pal along with his two security guards has been registered in the police station of Dhoomanganj in Prayagraj district.
