A Mumbai Sessions Court has reportedly rejected the plea of veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar challenging summons that were issued against him by a magistrate in connection with a case over his alleged objectionable remarks about the RSS. According to reports, lawyer Santosh Dubey who had filed the complaint against Akhtar confirmed in a statement that the latter’s revision application was rejected and that he has to appear before Mumbai’s Mulund court on March 31. As per Dubey’s complaint, Javed Akhtar’s controversial remarks that came in the backdrop of the Taliban seizing power in Afghanistan in 2021 were allegedly aimed at discouraging & misguiding people who have joined RSS or would like to join the outfit.
