Prayagraj: Authorities of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Kashi Prant) have decided to install ‘Om’ printed saffron flags at around five lakh houses in Kashi Prant comprising 17 districts of state on the occasion of Hindu New Year.
The VHP leaders are connecting with Hindu community members through online and offline mode to install saffron flags with ‘Om’ name on it at every house. The organisation aims to install at least one lakh saffron flags in Prayagraj district alone.
The VHP has geared up to celebrate the ‘Ramotsav’ event across 17 districts of Kashi Prant between March 22 and April 6 – on the occasion of Hindu New Year. Placing Om printed saffron flag is one of the parts of the event.
The VHP leaders have roped in its all units including village samiti and engaged prant, vibhag and district level office bearers and workers to make the installation of flags a grand success.
VHP’s spokesman Ashwani Mishra told TOI, “The organisation aims that every Hindu house should install saffron flag on the occasion of Hindu new year beginning from March 22 and for that, distribution of flags has already been started.
Organisation office bearers have also been asked to chalk out plans and strategies to connect with maximum number of people to get the saffron flags installed. Senior VHP leader Lal Mani Tiwari said, “Tolis (groups) of volunteers have been asked to install the saffron flags at each and every house belonging to Hindu community”.
VHP leaders claimed that hectic preparations are underway to celebrate Ramotsav between March 24 and April 6 across the Kashi prant with full pomp and show. Groups of volunteers would be conducting door-to-door campaign in around 5000 villages of Kashi prant and installing Om printed saffron flags. Besides, a series of religious processions and keertan events would also be organised.
Insiders, however, claimed with the date of Ram temple inauguration scheduled on January 1, 2024 , the VHP leaders are leaving no stone unturned to celebrate the Hindu new year, known as varsh pratipada with full fervour.
VHP has also planned to connect more Hindus to take part in the mahotsav celebrations and make it a grand event.
