Demanding for justice months after his 27-year-old daughter was brutally murdered in Delhi last year, Shraddha Walkar’s father on March 20 said that he will not perform the last rites of his daughter until accused Aftab Poonawalla is not hanged. He further kept his urge to move the case to the ‘fast track’ so that Aftab is punished to the earliest. “He should be punished as soon as possible. The case should go to ‘fast track’. If body parts are not found under 1 year, I will not perform the last rites until he is hanged,” Shraddha Walkar’s father said. The Shraddha Walkar murder case where Walkar was murdered by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla after strangling and cutting her body into pieces, left the country shocked after the case came into the highlight. Aftab was recently produced in the Saket Court where the victim’s father was also present during the hearing of the matter. The advocate from Walkar’s side also sided with the victim’s father and said that the accused should be hanged.
