KEEPING years of bitterness between them away for a day, the management of the Osho International Meditation Resort on Tuesday allowed entry to ‘rebel’ disciples on the occasion of their guru’s ‘Enlightenment Day’.
The disciples, who descended from across Pune, celebrated the occasion with gusto and held meditation sessions at Osho’s resting place. Many of them were banned years back for alleged “anti-resort” activities.
On Tuesday, they sported “malas” (rosaries) and walked inside the premises without being stopped even as the bearing of a rosary was banned in 1987. All of them were also told to pay a mandatory entry fee. While they have protested the fee in the past, on Tuesday, they did not resist. The Pune police ensured tight security.
