William Haandrikman Appointed MD of Two Accor Hotels in Singapore

(16/03/23)  Accor has appointed William J. Haandrikman as Managing Director of the Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford, effective 3 April 2023.

With more than 30 years of international hospitality industry experience in senior management positions across Europe, USA and Asia, William is relocating to Singapore from Vietnam where he worked most recently as Area General Manager for Accor - North Vietnam and as General Manager of the much-loved Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

Since 1992, his illustrious career with the French hotel chain has seen him work his magic in Brussels, Moscow, Amsterdam and New York, as well as with the Sofitel brand in The Hague, Paris, Vienna, Shanghai, Bangkok and Hanoi.

In 2005, he was given his first General Manager appointment at Sofitel Den Haag, Netherlands; subsequently overseeing the opening and managing the prestigious SoVienna Stephansdom in Austria.

During his assignment in Bangkok, William served as Cluster General Manager for two Accor properties.

“Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford are true hospitality icons; not only architecturally iconic but well-renowned for their levels of service and expertise,” William said. “I’m looking forward to spearhead the next chapter of growth.”

William is a graduate of Glion University (MBA), Hotel School in the Netherlands, ESSEC Executive Management Program and the Executive Management Program at Cornell University.
