The Galaxy Tab Active 3 has another great responsibility, as it is now one of the tools helping firefighters in the department of Ain, France. Samsung has provided Ain firefighters with 200 Galaxy Tab Active 3 tablets, which BatiSafe can easily manage thanks to the all-in-one Knox Suite enterprise mobility solution.

Firefighters in Ain are now using the Galaxy Tab Active 3 in conjunction with the Batifire app from BatiSafe, which facilitates information about buildings. And through the app and the embedded tablet camera, firefighters can scan QR codes located at the entrances to buildings to gain information about the area where they need to operate.

The tablet, in conjunction with Google ARCore, can also allow firefighters to integrate virtual elements (augmented reality) into the real working environment.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Active 3 boasts an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and is MIL-STD-810H-certified to withstand harsh environments, including extreme humidity, vibration, altitude, freezing, thawing, and more. And in this case, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 will help fight fires.

The tablet also has a “glove mode” that will allow firefighters to use the touchscreen without having to remove their gloves first.

The tablet also boasts an 8.0-inch PLS LCD, an Exynos 9810 SoC, a 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage, a fingerprint scanner, and a 5,050mA battery with 15W charging capabilities. Samsung supplied 200 Galaxy Tab Active 3 tablets to 58 rescue centers in Ain.

The rugged device, which Samsung announced and released in September 2020 with Android 10 onboard, has already received the Android 13-based One UI 5 update in Europe. It also has an S Pen, supports Samsung DeX, and features a 13MP camera with autofocus and panorama.

Samsung’s Knox Suite enterprise mobility solution will allow BatiSafe to manage all 200 Galaxy Tab Active 3 tablets, deploy new updates, and carry out maintenance across the entire fleet remotely and with ease. The Knox platform also ensures that confidential and sensitive data stays safe and encrypted in real-time.
