“How did Amritpal escape in the presence of police officials? It means Amritpal was aware of the plan. I doubt the intention of both Punjab and Central government. There is some conspiracy behind it. As hunt continues for Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh for the fifth consecutive day, Punjab Police has said they have arrested 154 people for disturbing ‘peace and harmony’ in the state.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Headquarters Sukhchain IGP Gill reaffirmed that the situation in the state is totally stable and under control.
“A total of 154 persons have been arrested for disturbing peace and harmony in the state,” IGP Gill revealed at a press conference.
Punjab Police on Saturday launched an operation against Amritpal Singh and his aides.
He said that a lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) have been issued against Amritpal Singh, who remains a fugitive and efforts are being made to arrest him. Punjab Police are getting full cooperation from other states and central agencies in this action, he added.

According to a report, Amritpal Singh spent at least 45 minutes in the gurdwara with the police forces on Saturday, March 18, when police was chasing him in the crackdown against him and his aides.
Ranjit Singh, the priest of the Nangal Ambian gurdwara, told Indian Express that he was worried when Amritpal Singh and his men came to his gurdwara as he thought they came to create a ruckus.
Amritpal was accompanied by four men when he reached the gurdwara and they said they were going to a programme for which they needed some clothes, the report said. At the gurdwara, Amritpal Singh’s men spoke to someone on the phone and reportedly asked about the ‘mahaul’. After 45 minutes during which they offered prayer, had food and changed their clothes, they left the gurdwara.
Amritpal came to the gurdwara at around 1 pm and left at 1.45 pm, the report mentioned, adding that the priest and his family members who provided Amritpal Singh clothes were unaware that he was being chased by the police till 4 pm. READ MORE
Fugitive pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh used several vehicles and changed his outfits while he was fleeing the police net during the crackdown on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill said the Brezza car, in which Amritpal Singh fled, has been recovered by the police.
“Amritpal along with three others went to a gurdwara in Mangal Ambian village (in Jalandhar district) in Breeza car. Amritpal then changed his outfit and wore a shirt and trouser. Amritpal along with three others escaped on bikes. Three people who went to the gurdwara in Breeza car with Amritpal have been arrested while those persons who fled with him on bikes are yet to be arrested. Amid the massive manhunt to locate and arrest Amritpal Singh, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reportedly reached Punjab on Tuesday.
Media reports quoted sources as saying that the NIA was seeking details and documents related to the Amritpal’s Singh case from the Punjab police and may take over the case from Tuesday.
The Uttarakhand Police on Tuesday conducted a combing operation at gurdwaras, hotels and in areas on the Indo-Nepal border in Udham Singh Nagar district in search of radical preacher Amritpal Singh and his associates, who are on the run after the Punjab Police launched a crackdown against them.
The police kept searching for these criminals across the district, City Superintendent of Police Manoj Katyal said in Rudrapur.
Following information from their Punjab counterparts that Singh and his associates were trying to flee the country, the police launched a search operation in Uttarakhand, he said.

In CCTV footage released by police, the radical leader was last seen riding pillion on a motorcycle with new clothes, a pair of sunglasses and a swapped turban to mislead those on his trail. The Punjab Police also responded to a plea in Punjab & Haryana High Court, that had alleged that Pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh was illegally arrested. CNN-News18 exclusively accessed the response in which Police had denied any detention or arrest of the radical ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief and called the allegations in the plea “totally baseless.”
Police in its response said, “Amritpal Singh has been professing radicals ideologies to setup Khalistan. He has been seeking support using all violent means for a making a separate nation.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Court also rammed the Punjab government for lapses in handling the case of Amritpal Singh. The court questioned the government on how the Khalistani sympathiser could escape when the government has 80,000-strong police force.

An order to detain radical preacher Amritpal Singh under the stringent National Security Act was issued by the Amritsar district magistrate on Saturday, said a police officer’s affidavit which also described how the Waris Punjab De chief gave the cops the slip.

Punjab Police on Tuesday released some photos of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh. “There are several pictures of Amritpal Singh in different attires. We are releasing all of these pictures. I request you display them so that people can help us to arrest him in this case,” said Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill.

Internet ban has been extended in some districts of Punjab till March 23. A notification by the Punjab government on Tuesday said all mobile internet services, all SMS services (except banking and mobile recharge) and all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except voice call, shall continue to remain suspended in the districts of – Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Moga, Sangrur, Sub-Division Ainala in Amritsar, areas adjoining YPS chowk and Airport Road both in SAS Nagar – till March 23.
In another latest development in the crackdown on Amritpal Singh and his aides, Khalistani leader’s uncle Harjit Singh who surrendered before Punjab Police on Sunday was taken to Assam’s Dibrugarh by cops. Later in the day, more of Amritpal Singh’s aides were taken to Dibrugarh by cops.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Police flagged a possible “ISI angle” as it invoked the stringent National Security Act against five men linked to radical preacher Amritpal Singh, whose uncle and driver surrendered amid a state-wide crackdown against his ‘Waris Punjab De’ group.
In other news, India demanded the arrest of and action against Khalistani supporters involved in pulling down the Tricolour at the embassy in London on Sunday. New Delhi also demanded that the UK government bump up security at the High Commission to prevent such incidents in the future.
Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra on Monday said the UK Deputy Chief of Mission was summoned and India demanded an explanation and quick arrest and prosecution of the miscreants.
