Telangana: More seniors under forensic lens in Preethi suicide case
Forensic analysis of key accused Saif’s phone with police
HYDERABAD: In the post-graduate medical student Dharawath Preethi's death case, police have got the forensic details of phones used by accused Saif and some of his batchmates. Now, based on the details of the forensic test, Warangal police will take a decision on how many of them will be made co-accused in the case.
Cops are also hoping to get the post-mortem examination (PME) report in a day or two which they hope will throw light on the cause of death.

"We have completed the investigation into the role of Saif. Now, we have to finalise if others had any role in the entire episode. The forensic details of the gadgets of the different suspects, who are batchmates of Saif, are being analysed for any comments they made on Preethi," a Warangal cop told TOI.
Cops said that they will be booked for violation of Telangana Prohibition of Ragging Act if their role is proved.
Once the PME report reaches police, the investigators will file a chargesheet against Saif. Police have booked Saif on the charge of ragging, violation of SC&ST (Prevention of Atrocities) and abetment to suicide.
On February 22, Preethi allegedly injected an unknown substance and fell unconscious in the staff room. By the time her colleagues saw her, Preethi's condition had deteriorated. After battling for life for five days, Preethi died in NIMS, Hyderabad. Her family has alleged that she was murdered and it not a case of suicide.
The officials have decided to request the court for a speedy trial after the chargesheet is filed.
