ReutersNEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:04AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.
Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank(down 3.11 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.78 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.77 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.59 per cent) and IDFCBANK(down 1.54 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.99 per cent at 39206.6 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 168.55 points at 16931.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 553.58 points at 57436.32.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Tata Steel and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sunflag Iron, Stampede Cap, Tapi Fruit Processing Ltd., W S Industries and Soma Textiles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ballarpur Inds., Future Enterprises, Goenka Diamond, Brooks Labs and Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
