Punjab: Amritpal Singh arrested, reports of him being on run false, claims Khalistani leader’s aide

Amritpal Singh, the Khalistani leader and ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief, has been arrested, claimed one of his aides on Sunday even as police said that he is on the run and a manhunt has been launched to nab him. Punjab Police, in a statement, said that Amritpal Singh against whom several criminal cases have been registered is on the run and a massive operation is on to nab him. However, one of Singh's aides claimed that he was arrested and is likely to be taken out of Punjab or handed over to the Lawerence Bishnoi gang.
