2 kids drown in water tank in Barmer dist

Jaisalmer: In a tragic incident on Friday evening at Barasan Bhilon ki dhani in Gudamalani area in Barmer district, two children died of drowning in the water diggi (tank) of a miner.
They were grazing goats nearby when they felt thirsty and went to drink at the diggi, but slipped into it and were caught in its slush, from which they could not come out.
Passersby saw the slippers of the children and called people from nearby. Police were informed and with great difficulty the bodies were taken out. Police identified the children as Devaram (13) and Laxman (14), both sons of Shankara Ram, resident of Bhilo Ki Dhani Bharasan.
Police said there was 8-9 feet of water depth but there was a lot of slush, which caused the children to drown.
Gudamalani ASI Paburam said a case has been registered on the report of Prataparam. Devaram was a student of Class 5 and Lakshman of Class 6. TNN
