BHU researchers present work at convention held in Brussels
Varanasi: Researchers from the department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) presented their research on positive psychology at the International Convention of Psychological Science (ICPS), recently held in Brussels, Belgium.
The team from BHU comprised Prof Yogesh Kumar Arya, Prof Sandeep Kumar, assistant professor Tushar Singh, senior research fellow Aishwarya Jaiswal, junior research fellow Shubham Pandey, Saumya Chandra and Akanksha Srivastava. BHU was the only central university representing India at the convention.
According to the BHU spokesperson, the team was invited to present their research on matters of public interest at the convention, attended by world-renowned scientists and researchers in psychological sciences and allied fields like medicine, genetics, biology, linguistics, economics, anthropology. Experts from over 75 countries took part in the convention. The work is about the implications of positive psychology , mindfulness and spirituality in the workplace, issues in tribal education, psychology of acid victims, and struggles of transgenders in India, cultural intelligence and well-being.
ICPS, held biennially, connects an international network of scientists and organizations to promote global interdisciplinary research. It is organized by Association of Psychological Science- one of the world’s largest and highly reputed psychological associations.
