BHUBANESWAR: Opposition parties on Saturday raised the issue of question paper leak of Class X board exam being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE).
Senior BJP MLA and leader of opposition Jayanarayan Mishra pointed out that an audio clip has gone viral in which students are being offered question papers of one subject for Rs 10,000 and another four sets of question papers for Rs 40,000. "Is this the way board examinations are conducted? The government is claiming many big things under 5T. It is the same 5T?" Mishra asked in the assembly.
The Sambalpur MLA also said it is a matter of concern that the government is not able to conduct examinations without any blunder or goof-up. "For the last few years goof-ups have become synonymous with the matric examination. It seems the state government is playing with the career of students and has taken them for granted. Either children do not turn up to appear for the exam, or question paper goes viral or there are mistakes in the paper," said Mishra outside the assembly.
School and mass education minister Samir Dash clarified that there was no leak. "There has been no such incident of question paper leak or the paper going viral. There was a printing mistake in the question paper today. However, students need not worry as their interests will be kept in mind during evaluation," Dash assured.
