Plus III admission process to change from this year
This year, students will apply once for admission and the process will slide-up their preferences at different rounds.
BHUBANESWAR: From this academic year, the higher education department will hold six rounds of admission for Plus III students instead of the earlier phases. In the phase system, students had to apply for every phase but in the new system, they have to apply only once.
“Phase-wise admission is a time-consuming process. We were publishing advertisements for each phase.. We were providing a window period to students for applying leading to delay in completion of the admission process,” said a senior officer of the department.
“In the new process, students will apply once and take part in the slide-up process to get into their preferable colleges. It will be conducted in six rounds. We have decided to lock the first-choice institution for a student. If a student chooses BJB College as his/her first preference, he cannot change this institution once he gets it. The choice will be locked. But it will not work for other preferences,” said the officer.
He said they will provide samples of reservation certificates so that students can see it and produce proper certificates. A guideline for reservation weightages will be attached with the common application form for reference of students, he added.
Department sources said it has planned to complete the process within one-and-a-half months instead of four months. It will also reduce the window period to 10 days against the existing 15 days from the start to the last date of submission of application to take part in the admission process.
