PATNA: BJP Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday levelled fresh charges of alleged corruption against RJD chief Lalu Prasad's wife and former CM Rabri Devi and younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in the land-for-jobs scam in railways.
Modi said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently examined Tejashwi in connection with land-for-jobs in the railways scam at New Friends Colony in Delhi in a four-storey house, which also has the registered office of A K Infosystem Pvt Ltd. The house is valued at Rs 150 crore, Modi said.
The firm was first launched by businessman Amit Katyal, who had earlier formed Iceberg Industries when Rabri was the state CM during 2000-05, and established a liquor factory at Bihta (Patna), he said.
While Lalu was railway minister, Dil Chandra Rai and his brother Prem Chandra Rai got railway jobs at Jabalpur and Kolkata, respectively, in 2006, Modi said, adding both were nephews of Hajari Rai of Mahua Bag at Patna.
A year later, Hajari transferred 9,527 square feet of land through a sale deed on February 21, 2007 to A K Infosystem owned by Katyal. Apparently, it was a case of quid pro quo, he alleged. In 2014, A K Infosystem passed into the hands of Rabri and Tejashwi. While Rabri owned 8,500 shares, the remaining 1,500 shares were in the name of Tejashwi, Modi claimed. One Triangle Trading Ltd, owned by Katyal, had provided a vehicle worth Rs 9.5 lakh and gave Rs30.26 lakh worth of loan to Tejashwi, Modi alleged.
RJD spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan discarded the allegations and said, "Modi is suffering from Lalu mania and his politics is dependent on talking about our party president."
