Namchi, 19th March(IPR): The Director and CEO of Global Pharma, Bangladesh Mr. Akm Ahsan Ullah, along with Mr.Marcus P Rai, Joint Secretary, Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim and S.R Choudhary, Ex Assistant Director,Government of India flagged off Temi Tea Trail Run Safari,2023 themed ‘Presidency Run for G20’,under the ministry of Tourism ,Government of India at Temi Tea Garden,today.
The main objective of the event was to promote tea tourism of the state and to raise awareness of G20,India’s Presidency Mission of lifestyle and responsible tourism among different service provider connected to tourism for sustainable development and to provide encouragement to the people for maintaining good health and fitness.
The run was categorised into 25kms, 10Kms , 5Kms which covered the route of Temi Tea garden along with the jungle trek and the panoramic view of the valley . More than 150 participants participated from West Bengal, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Sikkim along with the neighbouring country, Bangladesh and the students of Himalayan School, Temi.
It may be mentioned here that the event was headed by the founder and proprietor of Sportive, Government of India Mr. Uttam Dhar. It was firstly organised in the state and was supported by Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim.
Further, the winners were rewarded with cash prizes, certificates and trophies.
Present amongst were Dr. Md Abdul Wahab Prof. Of Dermatology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Mr. Kareem Md Shiper, Senior Officer of Social Bank Ltd, Bangladesh, Mr.Kazi Sherpa, Joint Director, Adventure, Deputy Directors,Mr.Sonam Rinchen and
Mr. Nirmal Cintury and other Officials and Staffs from Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of India and Government of Sikkim.
