‘Will set up Tagore park in Dhanbad if state sends proposal’

Dhanbad: Funds would be arranged for construction of Tagore Kala Rangmanch and a science park in Dhanbad if proposals to this effect is sent from the state, Union culture and parliamentary affairs minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Saturday.
Meghwal was in the city to inaugurate the Sansad Khel Mahotsav organized by Dhanbad MP P N Singh at BCCL Jealgora stadium.
“PM Narendra Modi has a vision to encourage sporting talents from the hinterland of the country and the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is aimed at providing them with a platform to show their talents. Sporting talents identified through such events would be provided with a chance to come up at national level and earn medals for the country,” he added.
Meghwal inaugurated the event by releasing balloons and playing cricket with cricketer Saurav Tiwari. BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta, director (personnel) Murli Krishna Rammaiya, former Dhanbad mayor Chandrashekhar Agrawal, former MP Mahesh Poddar, Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha, Dhullu Mahto Ragini Singh besides Dhanbad MP P N Singh were prominent among others present.
Sporting events like cricket, athletics, wrestling, cycling and volleyball would be organized during the two-day sporting event that started with a marathon race on Saturday.
