HISAR: Villagers blocked the Hisar-Chandigarh national highway for about an hour on Saturday afternoon, demanding the arrest of government railway police (GRP) officials in connection with the suicide of retired Inspector Raghubir Singh of Hisar’s Bichpari village.
The villagers said that they would not open the jam till higher officials of the GRP and all accused were arrested. However, after giving an ultimatum to the administration till 9am on Sunday morning, the villagers lifted the jam after one hour. They warned that if their demand was not met, they would block the railway track.
