Hookah bar rape case accused surrenders in Kanpur

KANPUR: Aman Sengar, one of the accused in the case of rape and brutality with a minor girl student in hookah bar, surrendered before a court, on Saturday. The police later sent him to jail.
Vinay Thakur, who lives in Jarauli, raped the minor daughter of the doctor couple at a hookah bar in the Barra area on March 3. After raping, Vinay handed the victim to his friends including one Aman Sengar.
The latter along with others tried to rape her. When the victim resisted, they assaulted her.
Later, on the complaint of the victim’s parents, the police arrested main accused Vinay Thakur (rapist) and Shobhit Pal (molester), an owner of a hookah bar, and sent them to jail.
Aman Sengar (molester), however, was absconding since then.
On Saturday, Aman, meanwhile, surrendered before the court in connection with some other case.
ACP Naubasta Abhishek Kumar Pandey said, “Aman has surrendered in another old case in the court today. Now the police will file an application in the court to procure his remand in connection with March 3 hookah bar case.”
