MYSURU: The University of Mysore (UoM) vice chancellor search committee led by MS Shivakumar, former registrar of the Visvesvaraya Technological University, met on Saturday and submitted three names for the post to the state government.
The governor had directed the state government to recommend a new panel for the VC’s post from among the eligible candidates.
According to sources, all four members of the search committee participated in the meeting which was held at the MS Building in Bengaluru. The meeting started at 10.30am. “Three names were shortlisted unanimously and sent to the government,” disclosed sources in the higher education department.
The post of VC fell vacant in mid-November. Currently, the government has appointed an in-charge vice chancellor to look after the administration.
