Pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh arrested in Jalandhar, internet services suspended till March 19

In a major operation, Punjab police detained pro-Khalistan leader and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh. Over a hundred police vehicles were involved in the operation and initially Singh managed to give a slip to the police. However, he was apprehended from Mehatpur area of Jalandhar district. On the other hand, Singh’s supporters have been trying to whip up sentiments in the state using videos on social media. The state govt has therefore suspended internet services across Punjab for the next 24 hours.
