Jaipur: A section of lawyers on Friday burned a copy of the Advocate Protection Bill, 2023, that was tabled in the Assembly on Wednesday.
Bar Council of Rajasthan chairman Ghanshyam Singh Rathore condemned the lawyers’ action and said the council had met law minister Shanti Dhariwal and that he has arranged a meeting with the delegation of advocates in the secretariat on Saturday with the principal secretary, law, for a positive view on some amendments to the Bill. The lawyers are unhappy about the Bill providing them protection only on the court premises and only when a client files a complaint. TNN
